More often than not, I wake at 5 to my rather dull mornings. On these days, I spend a considerate amount of time putting an outfit together and somehow, this has repeatedly worked wonders for me. I’m less groggy and cranky after having dressed this way, even if it includes just rolling up the sleeves of my favorite band’s t-shirt, a pair of ripped jeans and some chunky Splash jewelry.

I can’t recall the exact moment I considered documenting all my bad days and the outfits I chose to wore on those days. Fashion has become my coping mechanism of sorts over the course of this past year. And once I’d picked up the necessary courage to plonk myself down before my computer and put myself out there, I composed this.

Huge shout out to my immensely talented friend, Saurav Prabhu for these lovely photographs from a shoot that was only 20 minutes long.

I hope you guys enjoy this space as much as I did creating it.

Until next time,

This look was heavily inspired by Alizeh, Anushka Sharma’s character in the movie, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

I’ve got a subtle smokey going on; a brown shadow on the lid, smudged kohl close to my lash line which is smoked out into the outer corner of my eye. This is only my recreation of the eye makeup look Alizeh is seen wearing in legit every scene and I love how this came out for a first try.

Remember: kajal/kohl is KEY to this look.

Alizeh’s style is very edgy and she’s seen bravely sporting bright red kurtis with ripped jeans and whatnot. I decided to pair my black sheer shirt, with these extremely comfy printed pants from Forever 21 and a denim shirt from American Eagle Outfitters. For shoes, I went with my nude Steven Madden’s, to soften the entire vibe to this look.

To complete this look, silver chunk jewelry is a 10/10 must-have. If you’ve ever wanted to show off your nose ring or your favorite pair of jhumkas while wearing denim, now is the time.
